With a passion to create resilient, accessible, safe and livable communities where all can thrive and prosper, in 2013 Ms. McKenzie founded Midwest Select Contracting LLC (MSC).
MSC is a diversified and progressive construction management, planning and environmental consultancy firm helping government, engineering firms and real estate developers modernize and improve structural infrastructure in the built environment while protecting the natural one. Ms. McKenzie’s firm performs this work through contract administration and inspection, phase I environmental site assessments, materials testing and sampling, and ADA survey and evaluations.
Edna’s passion for creating equitable communities comes directly from her life experience working with and understanding the needs of under-resourced populations, disabled veterans, aging populations, individuals with special needs, as well as those individuals recognized under the American Disabilities Act (ADA).
MSC is purposed to integrate forward-thinking best and responsible practices to improve the built environment. We seek opportunities to create, improve and build functional, safer, and sustainable places and spaces. At the heart of who we are, is our belief that when the environment and communities are made healthier, livable, and enjoyable-its members thrive for the benefit of us all.
MSC, under the leadership of Ms. McKenzie is a company with a heart and pulse for service and humanity. Edna’s passion, values, and commitment to serve others is best demonstrated through her long standing volunteer service with various Minnesota state agency boards and councils, non-profits, and veteran organizations. Edna holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, a Master of Education, and an Educational Leadership Administrative degree from the University of Saint Thomas.
